Worship

At Lovechurch, worship is our first response to who Jesus is and what He’s done.

We gather at St Swithun’s every Sunday to glorify God, listen for His voice and make room for the Holy Spirit to change lives. We put worship at the centre of everything we do - not just in songs, but in whole-life devotion.

Worship wherever you are

Want to practise the songs we’re singing on Sundays? Hit play on this playlist. We update it regularly with recent and upcoming set-list favourites. Save it, share it, sing it on the school run and during your quiet time.

FAQs

  • Worship is both whole-life (offering ourselves to God in everyday obedience) and gathered (singing, prayer and communion together). We come to exalt Jesus, encounter His presence, and be formed as His people (Romans 12:1; John 4:23–24; Colossians 3:16–17).

    • Jesus-centred, Spirit-led, Bible-shaped. We worship the Father through the Son in the power of the Spirit (John 4:23–24; Hebrews 13:15).

    • Whole-life worship. Our bodies and choices are an offering (Romans 12:1).

    • Singing together. We “teach and admonish” one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19–20).

    • Decently and in order. We love the presence and gifts of the Spirit, and we steward them for the building up of the church (1 Corinthians 14:26, 40; Psalm 95; Psalm 47:1).

  • We love developing new musicians, worship leaders and tech operators. Start by completing our Worship Application and we’ll be in touch about a chat, a rehearsal and next steps. You can also email lewis@lovechurch.org.uk if you’ve questions.

  • We aim for our worship to be scripture-based and glory-driven. We combine a mix of contemporary worship and modern hymns that help our whole church lift one voice to Jesus. We keep a playlist of songs we’re singing this term so our times of worship feel familiar (see the widget above). Services include space for prayer and ministry, and we aim for singable keys and accessible arrangements.
