At LOVECHURCH we are passionate about ministry to Kids and families. We have a range of fantastic groups for kids and their families to come along to. We have an incredible Kids Team, all dbs checked. They are committed to impacting the next generation for Jesus and encouraging parents/carers in raising children in faith.

Who are we?

We are a vibrant, buzzing ministry for children aged 0-11yrs.

We exist to set our children’s hearts on fire with love for Jesus.

Our mission is to live out Proverbs 22:6, ‘Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.’

By putting Jesus front and centre in all we do, we strive to ignite a lifelong faith within our precious children, their families and beyond.

We LOVE what we do and we’d LOVE nothing more than for you to join our community.

Do join us for our lively Sunday morning services. Every Sunday we meet at both sites. We start at 10am at St Clements and 10:30am at St Swithuns. Doors open 30 minutes before our services so do come early for refreshments, pastries and to check your child in. You’ll spot the team in team T-shirts with the LOVECHURCH Kids logo on the front. Do come and say hi! We would love to get to know you. We begin with lively family worship and then kids spend time together in our incredibly fun groups.
In all our groups kids have time for snacks and chat. We are passionate about them building great friendships with one another.

Kids groups at St Swithuns, Sundays, 10:30am

Mother and Baby Area: We have a mother and baby area at the back of the church with comfy sofas, play mats and baby toys where mums can sit with their young babies if they would like to.

Embers (0-4Years):

Embers is a fun and safe space for 0-4s to learn about Jesus through play, bible stories, worship, prayer, and craft.

Sparks (Reception – School Year 3):

Sparks is a vibrant and lively kids group for kids in Reception – Year 3 to grow in relationship with Jesus. They have engaging Bible teaching, fun games, craft, worship, and prayer.

Flames (School Year 4 - School Year 6):

Flames is an action-packed group for young people in School Years 4 – 6. We hang out together, discover more about the Bible, take part in cool games and activities. We provide space to explore questions and encounter God.

Kids at St Clements, Sundays, 10:00am

At St Clements we have toys set up in the main church for pre-school age children and their families.

Sparks (Reception – School Year 6)

Our Kids group at St Clements is called Sparks. It is a fun and lively group for kids in Reception – Year 6. We inspire kids to grow in relationship with Jesus through engaging Bible teaching, fun games, craft, worship and prayer. It is held in the school hall just a hop, skip and a jump away.

Midweek Groups

Inspire Cafe, Wednesdays, 10:30am – 12:00 noon, Term-time, St Swithuns Site

Inspire Cafe is a friendly and welcoming Church run play cafe where all babies and preschool children and their families/carers are welcome.

What is the vision?

Our vision is to provide a space where parents/carers and children can belong, a space where parents/carers can breathe in the midst of the busyness of parenting and a place where we seek to build strong foundations for families through being encouraged and equipped. Our passion is to see families strengthened.

What does a typical session look like?

The session starts with our Inspire Coffee Bar open for coffee, tea, homemade cake, snack for your child and free-flow play, with different areas of toys available each week, and a special area designated for babies. The toys provided are particularly sensory, role play and soft play focused. Some weeks we will have play focused around a particular theme linked to a parenting topic for example parent/carer and child baking or messy play activities.

Throughout the morning there is opportunity for informal chat about a range of parenting topics by providing weekly Inspire discussion starters.

Towards the end of the session we close with an inspiring thought from the team/guest speakers to encourage and equip you as a parent/carer.

LOVECHURCH Tots, Thursdays, 8:45am – 10am, Term-time, St Clements Site

LOVECHURCH Tots is a friendly, informal church run playgroup where all babies and preschool children and their families/ carers are welcome.

What does a typical session look like?

The session starts with free play, with different areas of toys available, and a special corner designated for babies. We rotate toys from week to week.

There is also a breakfast table where you can give your child some breakfast cereal, juice etc. Hot drinks are available for the adults.

At around 9.40am we play a "Clean Up" song, where everyone helps tidy up the toys.

We then gather for a time of singing; we sometimes use some Makaton signs, and always lots of actions! Songs are a mix of nursery rhymes and faith-based songs. We have a theme for each half term and we generally sing the same songs; familiarity is key for young children!

Once or twice a half term we offer a craft linked to the theme.

On leaving Tots we give out small snack pots for children to have on their way home to those who want it, this often includes some fruit, cheddar crips or similar.
