The Internship at LOVECHURCH

The vision is to equip the next generation of leaders, developing them to achieve all that God has in store for next steps in their lives and ministry.

At LOVECHURCH we run an Equipping Leadership Year, aimed to challenge, spiritually stretch and develop in a life changing environment. Therefore, along with OneLife’s leadership qualifications we offer a Transformational Leadership qualification at the end of your internship. The internship program runs from September to July with the Youth stream ending in August. Part-time Interns spend 3.5 days a week (including Sunday) and full-time Interns spend 5 days a week (including Sunday) working in a vibrant church environment gaining further ministry experience, alongside Bible based training and a discipleship course.

Who is it for?

We welcome applications from anyone, however,  it is most suitable for University placement year students and graduates who want to embark on an extensive church based discipleship year, and are seeking the opportunity to work in a busy and  innovative church.

What does it cost?

In contrast to many other internships we house our Interns at no cost. However, Interns will be required to fund their daily expenses e.g. food, entertainment, activities, travel,  laptop, work equipment etc.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • Represents and lives a life fully committed to Jesus
  • Fully supports the vision of LOVECHURCH
  • Is ready to do whatever it takes, exciting or mundane, to build the local church

The Lighthouse internship is focused on changing the world by loving one child at a time. We believe that a thriving children’s ministry is the sign of a healthy church and therefore the Lighthouse internship is an incredible opportunity to having a huge impact.

The role

We tend to cater the job role for the individual in-order to get maximum this growth. One persons internship may look different to another’s.

Your Responsibility

We give all interns a long term project, for example one intern is currently planning and running a bible teaching series with new Christians. The other intern is managing our volunteers social media team to grow our expanding online presence.

First we pray! As soon as we try to do this alone we fail, God and supporting each other is at the centre of the youth department. My days vary from working in the church office, to leading Worship on a Sunday. My office days are focused on admin work; such as creating worship team rotas, organising and project managing events like music evenings for our amazing youth, and generally helping out at church.

Mid week, I help at events like our student and youth evenings, and at our Alpha course, usually leading or co-leading Worship, and throwing myself into that ministry as much as I can. Sundays are usually spent at church. Typically, I will help lead worship at one of our three services, and then attend another, which gives me a really healthy balance of serving and receiving from God.
